This application has two parts: Part IIf you are the student applying for the award, you must complete this part of the form. APPLICATION PROFILEIf you need to change the language of the application, select the language and save your change. The selected language will show on the screen as soon as you save your change. PERSONAL PROFILEPersonal identification number (PIN)All NSERC applicants have been, or will be, given a PIN. Once you have your PIN, use it each time you apply for an award and in future correspondence with NSERC. If you have not previously applied to NSERC, or if you cannot remember your PIN, leave that space on the form blank.
Providing information on gender, designated groups, and language capability is optional. ACADEMIC BACKGROUNDInclude only current and past programs. Do not include programs that you have not yet started. TRANSCRIPTSSend this completed section, along with an official and up-to-date transcript of your university records, to the industrial director of research. Part IIIf you are the student's proposed supervisor, you must complete and sign this part of the form. APPLICATION PROFILETitle of proposed research projectThe title will be used for publication purposes. It should describe the subject of the research for which you are seeking support. It should not contain a company or trade name. Spell out scientific symbols and acronyms. If you need to change the language of the application, select the language and save your change. The selected language will show on the screen as soon as you save your change. Enter the "Research Subject Code" that best describes the proposed area of research. For a complete list of these codes, consult the List of Research Subject Codes for Scholarships and Fellowships. SUPERVISOR PROFILEPersonal identification number (PIN)All NSERC applicants have been, or will be, given a PIN. Once you have your PIN, use it each time you apply for an award and in future correspondence with NSERC. PROJECT OUTLINEAs part of the outline of the proposed project, specify the student's role. The head of the department at the proposed university or the director of research at the proposed industrial organization must countersign the form. Submitting your application for a university awardThe head of the department must submit your application for a university award to the USRA Liaison Officer at the university where the award is to be held by the university's deadline date. Submitting your application for an industrial awardYour nominating company should submit your application for an industrial award to NSERC at least three (3) weeks before the proposed starting date. Even if you have already started your work term, NSERC will reject your application if you do not meet the eligibility criteria.
